Film festival season ensures that we get the best fashion moments on the red carpet from Hollywood’s elite stars.
This year’s Venice International Film Festival served bold fashion risks from Tessa Thompson, Jodie Turner-Smith, Ana de Armas, Sadie Sink, Julianne Moore, and the cast of Don’t Worry Darling.
The San Sebastian International Film Festival was a more low-key affair, but that didn’t stop Olivia Wilde and Diane Kruger from stepping out in their glamourous best.
At the 66th BFI London Film Festival, we saw a bevy of different looks from our favorite A-list stars. Here are six of the best dressed celebrities at this year’s BFI London Film Festival:
1. Jodie Turner-Smith in Balmain Couture
There is no event that Jodie Turner-Smith won’t stand out in as soon as she arrives. Case in point: She looked superhero chic in a Balmain couture gown designed by Olivier Rousteing that stole the spotlight.

The long-sleeved gown featured a sculpted gold piece that looked like body armor and wouldn’t be out of place in the Star Wars film franchise or the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
To keep the focus on the dress, she kept her styling simple with a purple buzz cut, winged eyeliner, glossy lips, and Bulgari jewels.
2. Taylor Russell in Schiaparelli Fall 2022 Haute Couture
Bringing a dose of drama on the red carpet, Taylor Russell arrived in a Schiaparelli Fall 2022 Haute Couture look. It exuded a “mourning Italian widow” vibe reminiscent of Mia Goth’s recent promotional tour looks for Pearl.
It featured a cropped black jacket with a baroque style and grave vine embroidery, as well as a black skirt with a draped design and a bow detail. The exposed champagne satin corset is the focal point of the look, adding drama and allure.

She styled it with a wide-brimmed black hat, a thick black choker, black tights, and a pair of pointy-toe black heels.
3. Tilda Swinton in Custom Bella Freud
Bella Freud does 1970s-inspired tailoring so well, and it’s evident in this custom pale blue suit that Tilda Swinton wore for The Eternal Daughter premiere.
The color is gorgeous, and the statement peak lapels elevated it from being just another power suit. She styled it with a striped white shirt, a long black necktie, and matching pale blue flared trousers.

The 1950s-inspired pompadour added a rockabilly vibe to the formal suit, and the pink lip provided a lovely pop of color in contrast to the pale blue. Matching pale blue pointy-toe heels from Manolo Blahnik rounded out Tilda Swinton’s look.
4. Florence Pugh in Valentino Fall 2022 Haute Couture
Fresh from the drama of the scandal-plagued promotional tour of Don’t Worry Darling, Florence Pugh attended this year’s BFI London Film Festival to promote The Wonder.
She continued her newfound love affair with Valentino in a Fall 2022 Haute Couture gown. The gorgeous coral hue made her stand out on the red carpet, as well as the voluminous fabric and ostrich feathers on the hemline.

Her bag wasn’t pictured, but she carried a Lulu Guinness blue birdcage clutch bag, which totally fit the theme of her look. David Morris chandelier diamond earrings and Valentino gold heels completed her red carpet ensemble.
5. Vanessa Kirby in Schiaparelli Spring 2023
Exuding modern elegance, Vanessa Kirby stepped out in a black strapless dress from Schiaparelli’s Spring 2023 collection.

It may look simple from the front, save for the exaggerated peplum detail and seams on the bodice, but the back featured a line of gold buttons and an exposed gold rear zip fastening.
Some gold jewelry would have elevated this look more, but Vanessa opted for subtle Cartier jewels. A bold red lip, a sleek updo, and black ankle-strap heels finished off her look.

6. Jennifer Lawrence in Del Core Spring 2023
We’ve seen Jennifer Lawrence in a slew of sheer gowns, but this time she wore a lined dress with a sheer cape from Del Core’s Spring 2023 collection.

The runway version was unlined, so it was altered for Jennifer, which made it more elegant. This understated look featured pearl embellishments, delicate black tulle fabric, and a floor-length skirt.
She rounded out her look with a center-parted updo, pearl earrings, and Gianvito Rossi heels.
