To make sure Mindy Kaling wouldn’t run away with her Chopard necklace (rather unlikely considering her net worth of $24 million), a security guard followed her around at the 2020 Oscars.
During the ceremony, she presented Best Animated Feature and Best Animated Short Film.

Along with a marigold Dolce & Gabbana dress, the 40-year-old actress wore a necklace featuring 78.46-carats of marquise-cut diamonds and 46.33-carats of round-shaped diamonds set in 18k white gold and earrings featuring 4.23-carats of pear-shaped diamonds and .31-carats of diamonds set in 18k white gold, both from the Haute Joaillerie Collection.

“I cannot lose this necklace. The diamonds, right?” she told E!’s Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet. “I have to make sure I don’t lose these, I don’t trip, I don’t flub any names.”
She also rocked a ring featuring a 1.23-carat round brilliant-cut diamond and 5.12-carats of round-shaped diamonds set in 18k white gold from the Magical Setting Collection by Chopard.
Mindy told Variety her necklace is “identical” to the one she stole in the Ocean’s 8 (stylized onscreen as Ocean’s Eight), a 2018 American heist comedy film in which she starred as jewelry maker Amita.
One day earlier, she also attended the 2020 Film Independent Spirit Awards in a floral dress from the Carolina Herrera Resort 2020 Collection styled with a Pilgrim strass clutch from Roger Vivier ($1,675 at Mytheresa) and black pumps.
