While Camilla Elphick gained widespread attention from fashion editors for her “Pez” shoes a few years ago, it’s been a while since we last checked out shoes from the award-winning British Footwear brand.
Founded by Camilla Elphick in 2014, her eponymous footwear label is inspired by Camilla’s passion for shoes and a firm belief that statement shoes make a lasting impression. After attending Parsons School of Design in New York and Cordwainers at London College of Fashion, she worked under a number of famous fashion designers, including Nicholas Kirkwood, Sophia Webster, Donna Karan, Paul Andrew and Charlotte Olympia. While studying at Parsons School of Design in New York, she rented an East Village apartment from HBO television series ‘Girls’ star Jemima Kirke.
Handmade in Italy, her shoe designs are defined by a feminine yet playful aesthetic and focus on premium, ethically sourced materials and bespoke prints. Her signature silhouette features a sexy curve below the ankle, designed to elongate the leg. She cites a chance meeting with Manolo Blahnik at a Vogue Italia event at Harvey Nichols as her real inspiration for starting her own brand. “I was a student at Cordwainers at the time, I showed him my portfolio and he said I definitely had a future as a shoe designer”.
Camilla’s signature styles including the Silver Lining boot and the Lover collection. Below are some of the latest boots, heels and sandals from the shoe brand that is based in Notting Hill, London.
