Benefit executives and E! Fashion Police representatives created an event called “You’re REALvolutionary” to honor strong-minded women worldwide. The recently engaged Ashley Tisdale was one of the honorees.
The event, which celebrated the second anniversary of Benefit Cosmetics’ best-selling mascara called They’re Real, also honored other women, such as Chrissy Teigen, Jodie and Danielle Snyder of Dannijo, Joan Rivers, and Stacey Bendet of Alice + Olivia.

We’re all for contrast, but we’re not huge fans of Ashley’s fashion chopsuey look. The Disney star wore a layered lace-and-satin dress by Alice + Olivia, which she dressed up with pearl earrings, a casual Chanel watch, a black Prada envelope clutch, and black Louboutin boots.

There’s a harmonious contrast, and then there’s some “World War” outfit. Ironically, this was a collaboration event with the E! Fashion Police, in which the sharp-tongued Joan Rivers herself was in attendance. We’re sure she had much to say about Ms. Tisdale’s outfit.

We can’t help but feel a bit disappointed over this colossal waste of a gorgeous dress. A designer dress made of lace and satin should have been styled timelessly.
Switching up the boots for a classic pair of black pointed-toe heels would have done the dress some justice. The dress also has a layer of lace peeking out from underneath the sea of satin, which makes the classic silhouette move up a notch in the list of modern dresses.
