Sometimes it can be easy to forget your roots when you move to another country. Considering Hollywood is in America, British actress Thandie Newton just had to find her own way to get her country pride across. Even though Thandie has access to designs from tons of top brands, she still makes it a point to pay homage to where she comes from.
The 44-year-old made her appearance at the PaleyFest in Los Angeles clothed head-to-toe in creations from British designers as she sat down for an interview on her latest project, the HBO original “Westworld.”

Thandie stepped out in a look that showed off her pattern-mixing skills. The actress wore a sheer bird print top paired with a sequin skirt embellished with floral designs. Both pieces are from Erdem London’s Pre-Fall 2017 collection.
The “Westworld” star finished her look with jewelry from Alex Monroe and a braided pair of platform sandals by Alexander McQueen.

While the Erdem London pairing was on-point, we’re not so sure about Thandie’s choice of footwear. We love that she took a risk by mixing sheer with sequins — which came together in a chic way through patterns — but her braided sandals offset everything. The frumpiness makes the look feel a bit dated.
Thandie sat down to talk about her role in “Westworld,” which required her to be naked for a considerable number of scenes. As an advocate for women’s rights, the actress had her hesitations about the role, but ended up deciding to go ahead with the opportunity.
Thandie’s exact Alexander McQueen sandal style is not available online, but you can check out the studded version at Stylebop and Yoox.
