Makeup mogul Kylie Jenner made a huge splash at the 2022 Met Gala. The mother of two has attended the event in the past but never has she caused such buzz from an outfit. She made her debut in 2016 and turned heads in Balmain the following year.

Jenner arrived with her four sisters and mother, some of whom had been to the Gala before. And although all of them looked stunning, there is debate as to which, if any of them, met the theme, including Jenner.
Her older half-sister Kim Kardashian was also criticized for losing weight to fit into a dress once worn by Marilyn Monroe.
Jenner dressed in a white wedding gown replete with a ruffled skirt and a draped bodice. Her dress also featured a mesh overlay with T-shirt-length sleeves, creating a more casual look.

It was then accessorized with a backwards ball cap and a veil covering her face.
The dress was designed by the late designer Virgil Abloh, known for his contribution to the fashion and hip-hop communities.
Jenner planned to attend the event with him in 2020 and wear his design but didn’t due to its postponement because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Virgil and I were supposed to go to the Met together before it got postponed in 2020,” Kylie explained on Instagram.

“To celebrate V tonight and his incredible legacy truly means the world to me. I’m humbled to wear this dress and honor my talented, beautiful friend. we felt you tonight, Virgil and love you forever. & thank you to the entire @off____white team !!”
Despite not meeting the theme, Jenner still wore the dress in Abloh’s absence and paid tribute to her late friend.
Though it may not have been perfectly on theme, it was a touching gesture to a man who left an indelible footprint on the industry she was celebrating.

In September 2016, Kylie Jenner kept up media appearances in New York City before attending a Harper’s Bazaar party with her beau Tyga.
After launching the second Kendall + Kylie collection with her older sister Kendall Jenner, Kylie made a few more New York appearances here and there, switching out her usual body-fitting dresses for a more unconventional one.

Kylie wore a see-through tassel dress from Balmain, which reminded us of a salsa dancer getting caught up in some elegant curtains.
While we won’t argue that Balmain head designer Olivier Rousteing did a fantastic job on the dress workmanship-wise, we’re not feeling this on Kylie. Maybe it’s the platinum blonde hair with pink tassels throwing us off.

Kylie was photographed cuddling up to Tyga on the red carpet as Tyga played along and placed his arms around her waist. Kylie also made sure to document her night on Snapchat, as usual.
