Kate Beckinsale and Chloë Sevigny‘s relationship spans an impressive 24 years. The two first starred together in the 1998 American comedy-drama film The Last Days of Disco, directed by Whit Stillman.
When The Last Days of Disco was released theatrically in the United States on June 12, 1998, Kate Beckinsale was 24 years old. She celebrated her 25th birthday on July 26, 1998. Chloë Stevens Sevigny was 23 years old when the film was released and turned 24 on November 18, 1998.

The Underworld actress mentioned to ABC News that their paths occasionally crossed throughout the years but that during the filming of their first film, times were much different.
“It was so interesting, actually, because I think when we shot Last Days of Disco, it was very much a different period of time,” said Beckinsale.
“Nobody had a cell phone, nobody was on the internet. So you’d take everyone’s phone number and you’d hope to run into each other. I think Whit moved to Paris. I was in England. Chloe was in New York. I had a baby suddenly and rather surprisingly. All of this stuff was going on, so it wasn’t as if you were kind of texting each other every day or anything like that.”
Beckinsale, Sevigny, and Stillman reunited in 2016 for the period comedy film Love & Friendship, which was written and directed by Whit Stillman. Sienna Miller was originally cast in the lead role as Lady Susan Vernon but dropped out and was replaced by Kate Beckinsale.

Despite having such a long-standing relationship, Beckinsale reportedly admitted that she still doesn’t know how to pronounce the last name of her co-star. If you’re wondering, it’s pronounced KLO-ee SEV-uh-nee.
Beckinsale was smiling from ear to ear as she hit the red carpet at the premiere of her film “Love & Friendship,” held at the Landmark Sunshine Cinema in New York City.
