In 2005, Rihanna released “If It’s Lovin’ That You Want,” a song written by Samuel Barnes, Scott La Rock, Makeba Riddick, Jean-Claude Oliver, and Lawrence Parker for her debut album Music of the Sun.
Accompanied by a vibrant music video directed by Marcus Raboy, the song captured the carefree, Caribbean-inspired essence that Rihanna brought to pop music as a 17-year-old newcomer.

The music video, shot on a scenic California beach and released on August 29, 2005, features Rihanna in a flowing white skirt, dancing along the shore and enjoying fun-filled moments with friends on jet skis.
“This video is about having fun, giving off the vibe of the Caribbean,” Rihanna told MTV about the music video filmed on a stretch of beach on the coast of California in Malibu.
“We did some mermaid-looking stuff down on the sand … and I’m just [performing] to the camera as if it were my boyfriend. Now we’re going to do [some scenes with] the Tiki torches. It’s going to be incredible.”

“The water was so cold … but oh my gosh, we had so much fun,” she added. “We were bumping each other off the Jet Skis and just had a ball.”
“The song is basically telling a guy, ‘If it’s lovin’ that you want, you should make me your girl because I’ve got what you need,'” Rihanna explained about the meaning of a song that received mixed reviews from music critics.
Nine years later, Rihanna’s style had transformed into a sophisticated blend of edgy and elegant. This evolution was evident at the November 2014 premiere of It’s Not Over by MAC Cosmetics & MAC AIDS Fund in Los Angeles.

Now 26, Rihanna appeared in a white-and-pink skirt suit from Altuzarra’s Spring 2015 collection, accessorizing with large hoop earrings and a selection of rings.
She completed her look with a pair of “Cocco” sandals from the same Altuzarra line, adding a touch of understated elegance. Notably, her bold choice of going braless under her fitted jacket and pencil skirt brought a daring yet polished twist to the ensemble.
