The 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards served as a feast for the senses. It was as much about the awards as the clothes as A-list stars sauntered down the red carpet to showcase the best in high fashion.

We’ve already seen Zoe Saldana’s controversial Prabal Gurung dress and Christian Louboutin heels and spotted Taylor Swift at the Warner Bros. and InStyle Golden Globes after-party.

Emma Watson’s Bold Red Carpet Look at the 2014 Golden Globes

But the most buzzed-about look belonged to Emma Watson, who packed quite a punch with her red-hot Christian Dior Haute Couture dress. Cinched at the waist with a ribbon, the scarlet frock featured short sleeves and a long, flowing skirt, which made it seem like such an uninspired choice for a prestigious awards ceremony.

A Backless Surprise with Dior Cigarette Pants

When she turned around, the British star offered a pleasant surprise — the dress was backless. It would have been undeniably risqué had it not been for the black cigarette pants from Dior that she wore to cover up her derrière.

This was a bold sartorial choice and a risky move, but the 23-year-old successfully pushed the envelope when dressing up for red carpet events.

Accessories and Styling That Elevated the Look

Emma kept the focus on her sultry dress by styling her hair in a side-parted chignon. She finished her look with red lips, an assortment of rings from Anito Ko and Repossi, and a single “Mise en Dior” pearl earring from Dior.

We couldn’t get a good view of her shoes due to the length of her dress, but Emma was wearing the “Ergo Sexy” pumps from Roger Vivier.
