In January 2016, Chloë Grace Moretz was busy promoting her new movie, “The 5th Wave,” which was released to generally unfavorable reviews from critics on January 22, 2016, in the United States.
The then-18-year-old actress, who stars as Ohio high schooler Cassie Sullivan, visited “Jimmy Kimmel Live” to talk about her American science fiction action film.

In addition to promoting her new film, she also took a moment to share some insights about The Little Mermaid, including the surprising admission that she “can’t really swim.”
“I can’t really swim! I mean, I can but I’m not a strong swimmer. Maybe that’s the new story: a mermaid who learns to swim!” she said.
“It shows people believe in yourself, unless you drown, in which case, it’s a terrible story. It wouldn’t be great for young girls,” joked Kimmel.
“I’m right in the process of starting [to prepare]. I have to learn how to swim with a tail. It’s been kind of crazy… It could potentially [be horrible]… I still have a few months to process it,” she added.
“It definitely was one of the most exciting things I’ve ever booked because it’s just something I grew up with,” the Diary of a Wimpy Kid actress revealed. “The Little Mermaid—we all kind of grew up with it, at least knowing it.”

In April 2014, it was announced that Chloe would play the main protagonist, Cassiopeia “Cassie” Marie Sullivan, in the film adaptation of Rick Yancey’s The 5th Wave. The young adult science fiction novel is available on Amazon.
Principal photography began on October 18, 2014, in Atlanta, Georgia, when she was 17. Born on February 10, 1997, in Atlanta, Georgia, she turned 18 on February 10, 2015.
