Sarah Hyland, who has been open about her battle with kidney disease, is never one to shy away from taking a fashion risk, and she did just that as she attended Elle’s 2016 Women in Television Celebration.

In an interview with Allure in January 2021, she talked about the genetic disorder that led her to have two kidney transplants over the last few years. The side effects of treatment include a swollen face and a bulge that she keeps hidden with Spanx.
“I’ve been put on a lot of medications like prednisone, which makes your face get larger — they call it moon face. It’s horrible. I lose and gain weight so fast. So that elasticity in your skin is just stretched out all the time from going back and forth,” she revealed about her skincare problems.

To make her skin look firm, she uses Olay’s fragrance-free Regenerist Collagen Peptide24 face moisturizer that she is promoting as part of Olay’s #FaceAnything campaign.
“It’s Olay’s highest concentration of peptides. I just love moisturizer. I love moisturizer so much. I drink a lot of water — almost a gallon, if not a gallon a day — so you would think that my skin would feel moisturized, but somehow it doesn’t.”

“Every time I put on moisturizer in the morning or at night, it’s just like my skin’s a thirsty bitch. She’s just like, Give me more moisturizer. This feels amazing,” she added of the moisturizer from American skincare brand Olay.

At the event celebrating powerful female roles, the then 25-year-old actress, known for her bold and fun fashion sense, put a contemporary twist on a 60’s-inspired dress while posing on the red carpet at Sunset Tower Hotel in West Hollywood.
The “Modern Family” star selected an intricately embroidered lace dress by Zimmerman. The frock featured a Victorian-style ruffled high neck, fringe trim, an open back, revealing side cutouts, and a thigh-high split that flaunted her toned legs.

Sarah allowed her dress to take center stage by wearing minimal accessories, including several rings by Jen Meyer and Anita Ko.
Mila Kunis’ lookalike swept her hair up into a top bun and added some color to her look with a slick of aquamarine eyeliner and rose-colored lipstick.

Sarah wore the popular Giuseppe Zanotti three-strap sandals in cream leather to match her dress. They have strategically placed straps, back zipper fastenings, and five-inch pin heels.
