Kate Beckinsale is back in her element! I was glad to see the 50-year-old actress return to the red carpet after her March hospitalization due to an undisclosed health issue.

On Thursday, the Underworld star was dressed to kill on the red carpet at the King’s Trust 2024 Global Gala (previously The Prince Trust). She wore an edgy bridal outfit that accentuated her beautifully toned physique.

The King’s Trust Global Gala

Co-chaired by global ambassadors Lionel Richie and Edward Enninful OBE, The King’s Trust Group, formerly known as The Prince’s Trust Group, held its third annual high-profile event on Thursday to raise funds for the global youth charity founded by King Charles in 1976.

This year’s gala is the Group’s inaugural event under its new name, following His Majesty King Charles III’s coronation in 2023.

Apart from Beckinsale, other celebrities who attended the event were Kate Moss, Emily Ratajkowski, Sam Smith, Chrissy Teigen, and John Legend.

Not Your Ordinary Bridal Dress

Bridal gowns are often conservatively fashioned in white to symbolize purity and innocence. Clearly, this isn’t the case with Beckinsale’s edgy wedding gown from Bronx and Banco’s Bridal collection. It’s so revealing that I doubt any bride would wear it to her wedding.

The Jolt star‘s gown embodies the Australian label’s love of cutting-edge fashion that radiates confidence and effortless glamour. It also wonderfully captures the actress’s signature style, which often blends edge, grace, and boldness.

Leaving little to the imagination, Kate’s gown features a charming asymmetrical one-shoulder silhouette cut from layers of shimmering sheer organza fabric. I appreciate the ethereal allure of the sculpted abstract ruffle strategically placed diagonally at the front and around the hips to preserve her modesty.

The $4,500 “Odette” bridal gown also comes with a bandeau-style sheer bodice with a corset back closure that enhances Beckinsale’s slender physique. Although I find the large side waist cutout a bit excessive, I love its appeal, especially when combined with the romantic touch of the floral-esque gathering on the other side.

The asymmetrical high-low hemline, which creates the illusion of the skirt flowing in a single direction, completes the dress’s design. It gives a striking view of Kate’s well-defined legs and tall white peep-toe platform sandals by Pleaser, renowned for their sexy shoe silhouettes and for being Lady Gaga’s go-to shoe brand.

Always one to wear platform heels, Len Wiseman’s ex-wife confidently strutted her stuff in the “Adore” sandals designed with 2.75-inch platforms and 7-inch towering stiletto heels. The sleek design adds sophistication to the look, while the slender buckled strap ensures a secure fit. These sandals, which retail for $53.95, are sure to boost height.

Glimmering in Diamonds

Beckinsale’s accessories didn’t stop at the heels. Her Jimmy Choo Faceted Heart clutch, which had a knot clasp fastening and glittering green crystals that complemented her nails, provided a pop of color to her bridal white ensemble.

Retailing for $5,275 at Farfetch, this can be the perfect conversation starter if you’re looking for one.

I commend Kate’s stylist, Emily Evans, for forgoing a necklace in favor of multiple diamond earrings affixed to the actress’s ears. Believe it or not, she had on four pairs of earrings. Among them are the W.Salamoon & Sons dangling diamond earrings.

The remaining earrings are diamond studs from Suzanne Kalan. They feature the $1,350 Classic Diamond Bar Studs made from 18k white gold with 0.18 carats of baguette white diamonds, the $4,700 La Fantaisie Star Diamond 18k White Gold Studs set with 1.06 carats of princess-cut white diamonds and round white diamond accents, and the $2,350 Classic Diamond Shimmer 18k White Gold Studs, which include 0.50 carats of baguette and round white diamonds.

Adorning her manicured hands, done by Elina Ogawa, the Pearl Harbor actress rounded out her jewelry with the $18,400 Suzanne Kalan Double Stack Diamond Eternity Ring in 18k white gold with 3.63ct. of differently sized baguette white diamonds expertly set in the American jewelry designer’s signature uneven band.

Barbie Bridal Hair and Makeup

With her hair pulled up into a stylish, high, curly ponytail and topped off with a black ribbon that brought to mind a Barbie appearance, Beckinsale looked straight out of a magazine cover. Italo Gregorio finished the chic hairstyle with a few loose strands framing the actress’s gorgeously made-up face.

Pat McGrath used cosmetics from Pat McGrath Labs to give Beckinsale a glamorous radiance. He applied the Skin Fetish: Sublime Perfection The System to balance her skin tone and the Divine Cream Blush: Legendary Glow Color Balm in the new shade Divine Rose Glow to give her a natural-looking flush. McGrath emphasized her cheekbones by using the Skin Fetish: Divine Bronzer in Bronze Dawn and Highlighter + Balm Duo in Nude.

Accentuating the actress’s gorgeous eyes, McGrath blended the Venus in Fleurs Luxe Quad: Voyeuristic Vixen warm bronze eyeshadow palette with the Mothership V Bronze Seduction eyeshadow palette for some shimmer. He then added depth to her eyes using the PermaGel Ultra Glide Eye Pencil and PermaGel Precision Liquid Eyeliner in Xtreme Black.

To complete Kate’s beautiful look, he brushed her lips with the same Divine Cream Blush he used on her cheeks before layering it with the PermaGel Ultra Lip Pencil in Done Undone and the Lust: Glow in Earth Angel.

A “Rough” Year for Kate Beckinsale Following Health Scare

Beckinsale refrained from discussing her health issue at the event, but she told People that the past few months had been challenging.

“It’s been a rough year. Because my parents have both been unwell and my cat … it’s been a bunch of things. So that’s why it’s nice to come and see friends and have a little perspective. Everyone’s had a bit of a rough year, I think.”

In March, Beckinsale posted a picture of herself in a hospital gown, appearing quite emotional. She didn’t disclose why she was in the hospital, but a few weeks later, she shared a picture wearing a t-shirt with the words “Tummy Troubles Survivor” printed on the front, raising the possibility that her sickness had something to do with her stomach.
